Welcome to Our 3rd & 4th Grade Classroom

Our third and fourth grade classrooms are Christ-centered spaces where students grow spiritually, emotionally, and academically. Using a middle-school-style approach, we departmentalize math, science, and history, letting each teacher teach to their strengths while students benefit from a variety of teaching styles. We employ a workshop model where the whole class begins together to learn a core concept, then breaks into smaller groups for differentiated instruction and practice. Because those groups are formed by ability rather than grade or age, every student is challenged and supported at just the right level.

Cross-age interaction is another hallmark of these classrooms. Our students are paired with 3K and 4K children as reading and chapel buddies, creating natural opportunities to build Christian friendships and model kindness and positive behavior for their younger schoolmates.

Mrs. Johnson grew up in Jackson and Fond du Lac, WI, and graduated from Martin Luther College in 2004 with certification in K–12 Vocal and Instrumental Music education. Over the past twenty-two years, she has had the joy of teaching music in Lutheran schools across the region, serving at Nebraska Lutheran High School, Bethlehem in Menomonee Falls/Germantown, and Peace in Hartford. She now feels blessed to join the teaching staff here at Crown of Life Lutheran. She enjoys everything music and worship, and spends much of her free time watching her three children play hockey.
