Catechism
Catechism is where seventh and eighth graders move from learning about Jesus to confessing him as their own Savior.
Students at Crown of Life Lutheran School meet for catechism twice a week during the school day, working through the foundational teachings of Scripture as Martin Luther summarized them in his Small Catechism.
These classes do far more than build knowledge. They prepare students to publicly confess their faith, become communicant members of the congregation, and receive the Lord's Supper. Catechism is taught by Pastor Strey and Pastor Massiah, along with student assistants from the Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary.
The Small Catechism
Students study the six chief parts of Luther’s Small Catechism — the Ten Commandments, the Apostles' Creed, the Lord's Prayer, Baptism, Confession, and the Lord's Supper.
Confirmation & Membership
Catechism prepares students to publicly confess their faith and become communicant members of the congregation.
The Lord's Supper
Instruction readies students to receive Holy Communion with understanding, faith, and a heart prepared to meet their Savior.
