Welcome to Our 1st & 2nd Grade Classroom
In our first and second grade classroom, students grow in both knowledge and faith, deepening their relationship with Jesus through daily Bible lessons and devotions while building strong academic skills. The day moves between small-group lessons, hands-on activities, and whole-class discussion, keeping every student engaged. Foundational skills are taught and reinforced, and critical thinking is encouraged at every turn. Assignments are tailored to each student's learning level and designed to challenge them to grow, so children are met right where they are and encouraged to reach further.
Mrs. Melissa Priest
1ST & 2ND GRADE TEACHER
Mrs. Priest graduated from Martin Luther College with a double major in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. Over the past 10+ years, she has built a rich and varied career in Christian education, with experience spanning early childhood, elementary, administration, and athletic direction. She spent time teaching in Alaska and Minnesota before returning home to Wisconsin. She has served Crown of Life Lutheran as our preschool lead teacher, director, and athletic director.
She now serves as our 1st and 2nd grade teacher here at Crown of Life Lutheran. She looks forward to guiding students as they grow in faith and learning, while continuing to assist with technology throughout the school. Her breadth of experience and heart for children make her a wonderful blessing to our Crown of Life family.
